How it Works
Simply give us a call, or email us, with your phone number and the best time to reach you.
We will have a five minute phone call to answer any of your questions, and we will ask four or five questions to decide which equipment is best suited to your needs. If it all sounds good to you, we will schedule a time to suit your schedule.
Your Scantastic technicians will arrive at the scheduled time. We are scrupulously punctual. The technician will arrive with all needed equipment including a table, chair, and task lighting. All that is necessary is a well-ventilated space with an electrical outlet within 50 feet.
It takes about 15 minutes for the technician to set up. You are not billed for set-up or take-down time.
Your time is billed at $95 an hour. We have found this is the least expensive billing method per photo. There is a four-hour minimum. If you need the technician to dig through a closet or lift a box of photos, that´s fine. It will be part of your hourly charge. Your Scantastic techs will show you examples of the first scans to assure you of the quality.
Standard 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 photos are scanned very quickly and safely, about 200 to 350 an hour. Heirloom photos of unusual size, scrapbooks, very old albums, and delicate photos require special handling and require more time per image, but still go quickly. We also offer negative and slide scanning, which takes a bit more time per scan, but also is relatively quick.
Your Scantastic technicians will organize all your photos into a permanent, free online archive which you, and others you choose, can be accessed with your smart phone, computer or tablet.
The Scantastic team leader will present a bill at the end of the session. We are paid on a daily basis even if you want to work more than one day. We accept check, credit of debit card.
